Neck Pain
|
Neck pain is a very common complaint, approximately 15 percent of women and 10 percent of men are estimated to have chronic neck pain at any one time. According to a report issued by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, 18 percent of chiropractic patients list neck pain as their chief complaint. Neck pain can lead to headaches due to the surrounding musculature of the neck referring pain to the head (cervicogenic headache). Chiropractic offers a unique and valuable mechanical approach to a wide range of cervical (neck) problems. Chiropractors do not ‘twist’ the neck or perform painful maneuvers. Spinal manipulation or adjusting as performed by chiropractors is a precise and gentle therapy whose aim is to return motion to restricted spinal joints and to improve the overall mechanics of the spine. |
