Shoulder Pain

Poor posture and an incorrect firing of the muscles in the shoulder girdle can result in chronic shoulder (trapezius) soreness or pain. Often our daily habits at work or in the car can contribute to this problem. A forward leaning posture puts strain on the shoulder muscles and they are unable to properly support the head. As a coping mechanism, the trapezius muscles attempt to pull the head back to its proper position, often resulting in multiple trigger points. Chiropractors use various techniques to restore the curves in the spine so that the shoulder muscles are not involved in holding the head in its proper position.
