Poor Posture

Posture is the window to the spine and poor posture can indicate there is a problem with a person’s spine and nervous system.
One of the first indicators of poor posture is a slouching or forward head posture. This posture will cause more strain on the neck muscles and surrounding musculature. It also increases the weight bearing on the discs and can lead to premature arthritis of the neck or even a bulging disc. There are many causes of this type of posture including car accidents, sports injuries, working with computers and loss of bone density. Our daily habits determine can change the relationship of our vertebrae and the way they interact with each other. Chiropractors analyze posture and spinal problems and try to isolate the problems that are contributing to the poor posture. By changing the relationship of the bones through chiropractic adjustments, posture can be corrected.
